The Warehouse Production Lead is responsible for the organization/coordination of work and resource flow, on a shift to shift basis in the Warehouse, ensuring sufficient staffing. Resolve warehouse related issues and make appropriate decisions on daily internal warehousing issues. In the absence of Warehouse Supervisor, solves problems and makes decisions due to external issues involving the warehouse.
Organizes sufficient resources to perform warehouse related tasks for the upcoming shifts (usually 2 or 3 shifts in advance).
Coordinates workflow activity in the warehouse, ensuring tasks are being performed accurately and efficiently.
Performs warehouse audits on every 8 hour shift, including outbound/inbound loads, housekeeping, and the drop yard.
Communicates with corporate supply chain to ensure finished goods are committed to orders.
Ensures orders are expedited as quickly as possible after production.
Conducts finished goods perpetual inventory check and performs analysis on any variances.
Submits work orders needed for warehouse area and follows up to ensure completed.
Conducts weekly tailgate meetings with Warehouse associates, focusing on safety and Warehouse Operating Procedures. Conducts fork truck training/certification of other facility associates.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and meet in-house initial and annual fork lift certification requirements.
Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience in warehouse and/or production environment
Knowledge of Warehousing standard operating procedures and experience working with a computer inventory/warehousing system, such as SAP. Knowledge of logistics supply chain processes, preferably Scotts'.
Additional Requirements
Proven ability to perform the following:
Ability to read and understand the Plant's Production Schedule.
Ability to perform basic mathematics: examples - Determines loss/waste factor when staging components. Determines weight distribution, considering axle weight restrictions, when loading outbound loads.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written with internal and external co-workers, customers, suppliers, etc.
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple simultaneous tasks, with interruptions.
Ability to work any shift and overtime
Ability to operate a fork truck in a manufacturing environment and train/certify others in fork truck usage.
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work in a team environment and promote teamwork.
Ability to train, motivate, and coach warehouse technicians on all the duties that should be performed in the warehouse.
Work any shift and overtime as needed.
