The purpose of this job is to assist the BLC Underwriters with the processing of business loan applications.
This position must review and analyze the loan request and spread financial information into the credit scoring software.
Acts as lead Credit Scoring Specialist, and trains entry level specialists; works independently based on past credit scoring specialist experience.
Responsibilities:
Determine type of request, review business loan applications for completeness and correct financial information then process with accuracy and thoroughness.
Review and process small business loan requests.
Responsible for verifying information on the loan application as entered in the credit scoring to ensure complete application.
Create and analyze supporting documents such as cash flow analysis, debt/income, common size financial spread, credit memos, church ratios, etc.
using business financial statements, personal financial statements and any additional information relevant to the analyses Assist BLC underwriters by compiling pertinent information on loan approved by field underwriters.
Analyze credit bureau reports, financial information and application data to prepare credit memos on loans requiring BLC underwriter recommendation during lowside review process.
Provide ongoing guidance, technical support and training on B2B to current and new users and other markets as they are introduced.
Demonstrate and provide support to Branch Managers, Management development Trainees, and other lenders on the procedures, guidelines, and special techniques to operate the B2B system.
Train entry commercial scoring specialist processing procedures, analyses, and credit memos.
Assist with special projects related to capturing, reporting, clean up and follow up of small business loan production, performance, etc.
Perform credit file maintenance, compliance notification and other administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of business financial statements to complete analysis documents such as cash flow, adjusted net worth, common size financial statement spread, church ratio and debt to income, and real estate project cash flow Advanced knowledge of business and personal tax returns and financial statements and general accounting concepts Knowledge of compliance regulations such as HMDA, BSA, and OFAC Advanced Word and Excel skills (tests) Entry level ability in Access Strong written and oral communication skills to be able to interact with lenders, community bank presidents and regional executives Analytical Skills Finance, Accounting, and math skills Strong Interpersonal Skills Four-year college education preferably in Banking & Finance or Accounting OR - Four year college education with minimum 6 hours in accounting or business finance.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
